Introduction
Discover the blessings God promises for obedience and the unique blessing guaranteed to those who read the book of Revelation. The Bible teaches that God is a God of blessing—and a God who takes obedience seriously. Throughout Scripture, we find a consistent truth: God blesses certain behaviors and warns against others. Deuteronomy 28 lays out blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, applying not only to individuals but also to nations. Today’s devotion invites us to rediscover how God pours out His favor and how He promises blessing to those who read, hear, and obey His Word—especially the book of Revelation.

Quotation
Charles Spurgeon once said, “God does not bless us because we deserve it, but because He delights to do us good.” This reminder prepares our hearts for today’s reflection on the blessings God lovingly pours out on His people.
Reflection
The Bible makes it clear: God desires to bless His people. He is not reluctant, stingy. nor does He with hold good things from His children. He delights in blessing those who walk with Him, listen to Him, and obey His Word.
In Deuteronomy 28, God outlines blessings for obedience—provision, protection, fruitfulness, and favor. He also outlines curses for those who persist in disobedience. This chapter demonstrates a spiritual principle woven throughout Scripture: obedience positions us under God’s blessing, while rebellion places us outside of it.
These principles apply not only to individuals but entire nations. God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14:
“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land.”
Humility leads to blessing. Repentance leads to restoration. Nations that honor God experience His favor; nations that reject Him drift into confusion and judgment.
We also see a unique promise connected to God’s covenant with Israel in Genesis 12:3:
“I will bless those who bless Israel, and I will curse those who curse Israel.”
Revelation reveals :
This is not an outdated vow. It remains a living, active promise of God. History itself testifies that individuals and nations prosper when they honor God’s chosen people.
And then, there is one more extraordinary blessing—one that comes with a divine guarantee. It is the blessing attached to reading, hearing, and taking to heart the book of Revelation:
“Blessed is the one who reads and blessed are those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it, because the time is near.” (Revelation 1:3)
And again at the end of the book:
“Look, I am coming quickly! Blessed is the one who keeps the prophetic words of this book.” (Revelation 22:7)
Very few books of the Bible contain a blessing for simply reading them—Revelation does. Yet many Christians and even pastors shy away from it due to misunderstandings, prophetic imagery, or fear of controversy. But God specifically attached a blessing to this book because He wants His people to understand His victory, His return, and His eternal plan.
If you want a guaranteed blessing from God—read Revelation. Hear it. Take it to heart.
Not everyone hungers for this blessing, but those who do will experience encouragement, hope, and spiritual clarity that only God Himself can provide.
The question becomes: Do you want God’s blessing today?
