Introduction
Discover Jesus’ mission to seek and save the lost and experience the abundant life He offers through faith. “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”Luke 19:10 Every organization, ministry, and business often develops a mission statement to clarify its purpose. A mission statement tells people why the organization exists and what it hopes to accomplish. Jesus Christ also revealed His mission clearly and powerfully. He did not come merely to inspire crowds, perform miracles, or gain earthly recognition. Instead, Jesus declared that He came “to seek and to save the lost.” Those simple words reveal the very heartbeat of Heaven.
Jesus still seeks people today. He seeks the broken, the weary, the discouraged, the wandering, and the spiritually hungry. Moreover, He lovingly knocks at the door of every heart, inviting each person into fellowship with Him. His mission remains unchanged because His love remains unchanged.
“Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” — C.S. Lewis
Perhaps today you feel distant from God or weighed down by fear, regret, or uncertainty. Yet Jesus still extends His invitation with grace and mercy. He desires not only to save you from sin but also to fill your life with lasting hope, joy, peace, and eternal purpose.

Just As I Am
Jesus Came to Seek
Jesus does not wait for perfect people to find Him. Instead, He actively seeks those who have wandered away. Throughout the Gospels, we repeatedly see Jesus pursuing individuals others overlooked or rejected. He sought Zacchaeus in a tree, the Samaritan woman at the well, blind Bartimaeus on the roadside, and Peter after his failure. His pursuit always flowed from compassion.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
Revelation 3:20
That verse paints a beautiful picture of Christ’s patience and gentleness. Jesus knocks, but He does not force His way into anyone’s life. Instead, He invites us into relationship. Furthermore, He desires daily fellowship with us. The Savior of the world wants communion with ordinary people like you and me.
Many people spend years searching for meaning in success, possessions, relationships, or accomplishments. However, the deepest need of the human heart can only be satisfied through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore, when we finally open the door to Him, we discover the peace and purpose we have long desired.
Jesus Came to Save
Jesus did not merely come to offer advice or moral improvement. He came to save sinners through His sacrificial death and resurrection. Humanity could never save itself from sin. No amount of good works, religious activity, or personal effort could erase guilt before a holy God. Yet Jesus willingly took our place on the cross so we could experience forgiveness and eternal life.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
John 10:10
The abundant life Jesus offers is far greater than temporary happiness or material blessing. Instead, it is a life anchored in Christ. It includes peace during trials, joy during hardship, hope during uncertainty, and strength for every season of life. Moreover, this abundant life begins now and continues forever in eternity with Him.
Sin steals. Satan destroys. Fear cripples. Nevertheless, Jesus restores. He forgives the past, strengthens the present, and secures the future. Through Christ, broken lives can be rebuilt and weary hearts can find rest.
Answering the Knock
Joshua once challenged the people of Israel with these powerful words:
“Choose this day whom you will serve, But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Joshua 24:15
Every person eventually chooses whom they will follow. Some choose worldly success, personal ambition, or temporary pleasures. Yet none of those things can provide eternal security. Jesus alone offers salvation and everlasting life.
Perhaps today Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. Maybe you once walked closely with Him but drifted away. Maybe you have never fully surrendered your life to Christ. Or perhaps you simply need to renew your commitment and trust Him more deeply. Whatever your circumstance, His invitation still stands.
Jesus receives us “just as we are.” We do not need to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. Instead, we come honestly, humbly, and willingly. Then He begins the transforming work within us through His grace.
Good morning as you answer the knock at the door. Today can become a fresh beginning filled with God’s mercy, direction, and peace.
