Introduction
Photo Op With Jesus. Find daily encouragement in renewing your mind in Christ. Embrace your new self and cultivate true righteousness and holiness. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22–24)
Good morning. Every day presents us with a choice: which version of ourselves will we focus on—the old self shaped by the flesh, or the new self being formed by Christ? Too often, we take the wrong “snapshot” of our lives, focusing on our flaws instead of God’s transforming work within us.

Blessed Assurance – Worship Reflection
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” – C.S. Lewis
Reflection
Paul’s message in Ephesians is both clear and challenging: put off the old self and put on the new. This is not a one-time act but a daily surrender. The “old self” represents our natural tendencies—selfishness, pride, fear, and sin. The “new self” reflects Christ—righteousness, holiness, humility, and love.
Yet many of us struggle because we keep looking at the wrong picture. Imagine constantly reviewing an old photograph of yourself and judging your present by it. Spiritually, we often do the same thing. We fixate on who we used to be instead of embracing who Christ is making us to be.
Romans 12:2 reminds us:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”
Transformation is not instant—it is a process. It is the slow, faithful work of God reshaping our thoughts, desires, and identity. Like a series of photos over time, each moment with Christ captures growth, even when it feels subtle.
Your “photo op with Jesus” is not about perfection—it is about progression. Each day you spend in His presence, your heart is softened, your thinking is renewed, and your life begins to reflect Him more clearly.
Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” What you believe about yourself matters. If you only see your failures, you will live discouraged. But if you begin to see yourself as God sees you—redeemed, renewed, and being transformed—you will walk in freedom and purpose.
The question is not, “Am I perfect yet?” but rather, “Is Jesus changing me?” And the answer, for every believer walking with Him, is yes.
Life Application
- Take time today to reflect on how God has already changed you—no matter how small it seems.
- When negative thoughts arise, replace them with God’s truth about your identity in Christ.
- Spend intentional time renewing your mind through Scripture and prayer.
- Focus on progress, not perfection—celebrate transformation.

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the work You are doing in my life. Help me to let go of my old self and embrace the new identity You have given me in Christ. Renew my mind daily so that I may see myself as You see me. Teach me to focus not on my past, but on Your transforming power within me. Shape me into Your likeness, step by step. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
