Introduction
Remember God’s blessings every day. Gratitude replaces entitlement and fills our hearts with joy, peace, and praise. Every day presents us with a choice. We can focus on what we believe we deserve, or we can rejoice in what God has already given. Our culture often encourages us to expect more, demand more, and compare ourselves with others. However, Scripture calls us to a much healthier attitude—remembering God’s goodness. When we intentionally recall His faithfulness, our hearts change. Complaining gives way to praise, anxiety yields to peace, and entitlement is replaced by gratitude. Today, pause for a few moments and remember the countless ways the Lord has cared for you. His blessings are far greater than we often realize.

Life Application
There is an invisible battle taking place inside every heart. It is the battle between entitlement and gratitude.
Entitlement whispers, “Life owes me.” Gratitude quietly responds, “God has already been so good to me.”
The difference between those two attitudes determines whether we live with continual disappointment or continual joy.
Entitlement constantly keeps score. It notices every unanswered prayer, every missed opportunity, every inconvenience, and every blessing someone else appears to have. It magnifies what is absent while ignoring what is present.
Gratitude does exactly the opposite.
Gratitude remembers.
David understood this truth when he commanded his own soul:
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”
Notice that David had to tell himself to remember. We do too.
Our hearts naturally drift toward forgetting God’s goodness. We become occupied with today’s problems and overlook yesterday’s miracles. Therefore, we must intentionally remember His blessings.
Remember
the family He has given you.
friends who encourage you.
work He has provided.
food on your table.
home that shelters you.
prayers He has answered.
doors He has opened.
dangers from which He protected you.
sins He has forgiven through Jesus Christ.
peace He has placed within your heart.
and people He has brought into your life to strengthen, comfort, and love you.
Every blessing points to the kindness of God.
When we deliberately remember God’s blessings, our perspective changes. Complaints become thanksgiving. Fear becomes confidence. Discouragement becomes hope.
Proverbs reminds us that “as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Our thoughts shape our attitudes, and our attitudes influence every part of our lives.
Choose today to think about God’s goodness instead of life’s disappointments.
Rather than keeping a record of what you lack, begin keeping a record of what God has done.
A grateful heart is one of the greatest testimonies a Christian can possess because it reflects complete confidence in the goodness of our Heavenly Father.
As you begin this day, let your first thoughts be thoughts of thanksgiving. The more you remember God’s blessings, the less room entitlement will have in your heart.
Good morning—and may you spend today remembering the goodness of God.
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for every blessing You have poured into my life, both seen and unseen. Forgive me for the times I have focused more on what I lack than on what You have already provided. Replace every attitude of entitlement with a heart overflowing with gratitude.
Help me to remember Your faithfulness in every season. Thank You for my family, my friends, my daily provisions, the work You have entrusted to me, the prayers You have answered, the doors You have opened, and most of all, the forgiveness and eternal life I have through Jesus Christ.
Teach me to count my blessings instead of my disappointments. May my thoughts reflect Your goodness, my words express thanksgiving, and my life bring glory to You.
In the precious name of Jesus I pray.
Amen.
