The song “My Jesus,” written by country and Christian artist Anne Wilson, grew out of exactly this kind of pain. Wilson lost her older brother in a car accident, and the grief that followed was overwhelming. On the night it happened, she sensed God gently asking whether she still trusted Him. She answered yes, and in that moment, an unexpected peace settled over her heart. Her story reminds us that faith isn’t always a shout of victory. Sometimes it’s a whispered yes offered in the middle of unbearable sorrow.

Consequently, every tear you’ve cried has been seen, and every burden you’ve carried has been noticed by the God who loves you.
Weeping for a Night, Joy in the Morning
Psalm 30:5 offers a promise worth holding onto: weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Grief is real, and Scripture never asks you to pretend otherwise. However, grief is not the final chapter. Healing takes time, and it rarely follows a straight line, but Psalm 147:3 assures us that God binds up the brokenhearted and tends to their wounds with tender care.
If today finds you in the middle of your own night season, take heart. Morning is coming, because Jesus is the light who walks with you until it arrives. Meanwhile, lean on Him the way Anne Wilson did on her hardest night. Say yes to Him even through your tears, and allow His peace to meet you exactly where you are.
