Seek his face

Let Us Pray

Lord, our hearts long for You. As You have said, “Seek my face,” we respond with sincere desire. Help us to notice You in the moments and faces around us today. Amen.

Introduction

Anticipating God’s face brings deep joy. Look closely today—His face may be reflected in an act of kindness or a quiet moment of grace.  Anticipating God’s face fills our hearts with hope. We may not see Him fully now, yet the joy of expectation lifts our souls. Today, look closely—you might catch a glimpse.

Seek His Face Today

Psalm 27:8 says, “You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, LORD, do I seek.’” These words reflect a deep longing every believer carries—to see the face of God. Although no one has seen His full glory since Moses on Mount Sinai, we still look forward with joy.

There’s something powerful about anticipation. Consider how people feel leading up to the Super Bowl—planning, talking, and hoping. That kind of excitement is a shadow of the joy believers feel as we wait to see God’s face. Unlike a game, this anticipation carries eternal weight and eternal reward.

While we can’t yet see His face directly, we often catch glimpses. When someone shows kindness, when a friend calls at the perfect time, or when a stranger lends a hand—these moments reveal the heart of God through His people. We see Him reflected in acts of compassion, love, and grace.

Therefore, be on the lookout today. Expect to encounter His presence in unexpected ways. Anticipating God’s face changes how we live. It turns ordinary moments into sacred glimpses. Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” If your heart seeks Him, your eyes will begin to see Him.

Even now, He is near. And one day, the full glory of His face will shine upon us. Until then, watch carefully—you might see God today.

I see God around me every day. Every morning in the beautiful sunrise, every evening in a beautiful sunset and throughout the day with my many friends. I see him in the mountains on my hunting trips and I see him in the fields. I see him when I’m in the duck blind with the mist slowly rising from the water. He is everywhere.
