Introduction
Bringing in the Sheaves teaches us to trust God’s timing in our spiritual sowing and reaping efforts for the Kingdom. Bringing in the Sheaves reminds us that God alone gives the growth. We may plant and water, but it is the Lord who brings the increase. This devotion encourages faithfulness in laboring for the Kingdom, even when results are slow or unseen.

Morning Prayer: Lord, help me sow seeds of Your Word today with patience and joy. May I trust Your timing for the harvest You have promised. Amen.
Scripture Reading
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”
— 1 Corinthians 3:6–7
Devotion
When the missionary William Carey left England for India in 1793, it took seven years before he witnessed his first convert. Though many would have given up, Carey remained faithful because he trusted the God who gives growth. Faithfulness is never measured by numbers but by obedience and endurance.
Scripture assures us that God’s Word never returns void: “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose.” (Isaiah 55:11) Every seed planted in faith will bear fruit in God’s time.
Richard Baxter wisely said, “If you will do the work of Christ, do not mind the success of it. It is your duty to labor, and it is Christ’s to give the blessing.” These words remind us that our role is obedience; God’s role is increase.
I follow J.D. Walt through the Seedbed ministry and his devotional series called Wake Up Call. Each day he closes with, “Get your seeds, and I’ll see you in the field.” That phrase captures today’s message perfectly—faithful laborers trust God for the harvest, not human applause.
Life Application
Scripture: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Just as farmers labor without immediate results, believers must persevere in faith and kindness, trusting God for His appointed time of growth. Every prayer, every act of kindness, and every word of truth is a seed.
Daily Action Steps:
- 🌱 Pray for someone who has drifted from faith.
- 💧 Encourage a fellow believer who feels weary in serving.
- 🌾 Reflect on one “seed” you’ve planted and trust God to bring it to life.
- 🙏 Thank God for past harvests in your life and ministry.
“God has not called us to success, but to faithfulness.” — Billy Graham
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to plant and water with patience. Strengthen my heart to trust Your timing and rejoice in Your increase. Help me to labor joyfully, knowing that every seed planted in love will one day yield an eternal harvest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
