Introduction
Fear often whispers doubts into the hearts of believers. At times, Christians quietly wonder, “Am I truly saved?” or “Does God really know me personally?” Nevertheless, God answers those fears with tender assurance through His Word. Isaiah reminds us that the Lord not only created us, but He also redeemed us and called us by name. Therefore, we do not have to live in anxiety or uncertainty. We belong to Him.
Moreover, Jesus consistently reassured His followers that salvation rests securely in Him. The Savior who died for us also promises to hold us firmly in His hand. Consequently, believers can walk in confidence rather than fear.

Scripture Focus
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
— Isaiah 43:1
Inspirational Reflection
The prophet Isaiah addressed one of humanity’s deepest struggles: fear. Specifically, many people wrestle with the fear of rejection, abandonment, or uncertainty about salvation. However, God speaks directly into those fears with comforting clarity: “You are mine.”
What an incredible promise! The Creator of the universe knows your name personally. Furthermore, He does not merely recognize you from a distance; He claims you as His beloved child. That truth alone can calm the storms of anxiety that often invade our hearts.
Jesus reinforced this promise throughout His earthly ministry. In John 3:16, He declared:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Notice the simplicity and beauty of Christ’s invitation: believe. Salvation is not earned through perfection, achievement, or religious performance. Instead, eternal life is received through faith in Jesus Christ.
Additionally, Jesus described believers as His sheep:
“The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name.”
— John 10:3
This image is deeply personal. A shepherd knows every sheep individually, protects them carefully, and leads them faithfully. Likewise, Jesus knows every detail about your life. He knows your struggles, your victories, your disappointments, and your fears. Yet despite knowing everything, He still calls you His own.
Moreover, Christ gives believers tremendous assurance in John 10:27-28:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
What security believers possess in Jesus! Although circumstances may change and emotions may fluctuate, God’s promises remain steadfast. Consequently, Christians can rest in the certainty that Christ will never abandon those who trust in Him.
Charles Spurgeon once wrote, “Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe.”
Therefore, when fear tries to overwhelm your heart, remember the promises of God. When doubt whispers loudly, answer it with Scripture. Meanwhile, continue listening for the voice of the Good Shepherd, because He still calls His sheep by name.
Jesus asks the same question today that He asked Martha:
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live… Believe thou this?”
— John 11:25
The answer of faith changes everything.
