Jesus’ Pruning: Bearing Fruit that Lasts

Discover how Jesus’ pruning shapes believers to bear lasting fruit through His Word, hardships, and the Spirit’s transformation.  Jesus’ Pruning reminds us that God lovingly shapes us to bear fruit that will last. Just as a vinedresser tends the vine, our Heavenly Father carefully removes what hinders growth so that we may flourish in Christ. This pruning process, though often difficult, is an essential act of His love and care. Ultimately, His goal is transformation through the Spirit, not mere behavior modification. This is the heart of today’s devotion.

George Foreman’s Encounter with Jesus Changed His Life

In his younger years, Foreman described “the night Jesus came alive in me.” That moment marked a new direction in his life. Later, in mid-life, he reaffirmed his faith, declaring that his encounter with Christ was real and lasting. As an older man, he continued to share his story, stating that he even experienced death but returned to life with the same message: Jesus is Lord.

Fully Trained Disciples Reflect Christ

A disciple is fully trained when he reflects Christ. Transformation and renewal shape us daily into the image of our Teacher, Jesus Christ.  Jesus said, “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” (Luke 6:40)

Paul echoes this when he reminds us, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6) We are works in progress, molded daily by the Spirit of God. This process is not instant but continual, guiding us toward maturity in Christ.

Listen to Him and Be Transformed

Listen to Him and let Jesus transform you. When the veil is lifted and we tune into His voice, real change begins.  Listen to Him daily. That  is the divine command that echoes from the mountaintop where Jesus was transfigured. In that sacred moment, God made it clear—Jesus must be heard. As we consider this revelation, we’re reminded that transformation begins with listening and leads to renewal.
