Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us with purpose. Guide us to serve faithfully now so we may serve joyfully forever in Your presence. Amen.
Let Us Worship In Song
Introduction
Our heavenly work is not a fantasy—it is a promise rooted in God’s Word. In fact, the seed we sow now determines our eternal rewards and the work we will joyfully do in eternity. The Bible makes it clear: we were created to serve, both now and forever.
Faithful Service Prepares Us for Eternity
Many believers are surprised to learn that we will work in heaven. However, Scripture reveals that work is not a curse, but a divine calling. God Himself works, and Jesus confirmed this truth: “My Father is still working, and I am working also” (John 5:17). Because we are made in God’s image, our work—done for His glory—is eternally significant. According to 2 Corinthians 5:10, “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or bad.” This divine evaluation will determine not our salvation, but our rewards and responsibilities in the life to come.
Sowing and Reaping
What we do now directly impacts our future. Galatians 6:7-9 warns us not to be deceived: “For whatever a man sows, he will also reap.” Those who sow to the Spirit will reap eternal life—and eternal work that glorifies God. Heaven is not an eternal vacation. It is a place of joyful, fulfilling service. Revelation 22:3-4 tells us, “The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and His servants will serve Him.” Notice that word—serve. We will worship, yes, but we will also work, using our gifts in ways that are deeply meaningful and eternally satisfying. Therefore, let’s ask: what kind of seed are we sowing today? Are we planting seeds of love, truth, kindness, and faithfulness? These will blossom into everlasting rewards and responsibilities in God’s Kingdom. It matters—now and forever.
