Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for the freedom You’ve given us. Help us use our liberty to love and serve others, glorifying You in all we do. Amen.

Introduction
Freedom through service means using your liberty to love others. True freedom comes when we serve God daily with no need for recognition. It is one of the greatest paradoxes of the Christian life. This devotion reminds us that freedom, rightly used, is expressed by serving others in love.
Live in Freedom Through Serving
“Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” (1 Peter 2:16)
Our God created each of us as free moral agents. We are not robots—we have the power to choose our path. That freedom includes the ability to set our own standards and shape our lifestyles. However, the apostle Peter warns us not to misuse that freedom.
Instead, we are to live as servants of God. This means using our liberty to carry out God’s will. Jesus summarized God’s law with two clear commandments: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,” and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37, 39)
To make sure we understood, Jesus told the Parable of the Good Samaritan. He taught that our “neighbor” is anyone in need. We glorify God most when we help people without expecting praise. That is what it means to live in freedom through service.
As Mother’s Day nears, I remember my mom’s quiet acts of service. She once asked me to deliver food to a neighbor, whispering, “Slip this into Mrs. So-and-so’s kitchen.” She wanted no attention—only to serve.
This is how we live as servants of God—through small, unseen acts of compassion and love. True freedom is not self-indulgence. It’s the ability to choose God’s way every day. So today, let freedom ring—not with noise or self-interest, but with love and service.
