Introduction
How great is our God—this is more than a question, it’s the cry of a grateful heart. His love is vast, and He does not repay us as our sins deserve. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions.
Let Us Pray
Lord God Almighty, thank You for Your unfailing love. You do not hold our sins against us but wash us clean through Your mercy. Open our eyes today to see just how great You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Let Us Worship In Song
How Great Is Our God
“*He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.*” — Psalm 103:9–12 The Psalmist David gives us a sweeping vision of God’s mercy. His words reach deep into our spirit, drawing our attention to God’s compassion. Our great God does not dwell in perpetual anger. He is not petty. He does not wait for us to mess up and then punish us. Instead, God gives grace. He is patient with us, even when we are slow to repent.
God’s Boundless Mercy
He chooses love over wrath. God’s mercy is not theoretical—it’s real, active, and deeply personal. He does not treat us as our sins deserve. If He did, none of us could stand. But instead of condemnation, He offers forgiveness. And not just a small pardon—He removes our sins completely, “as far as the east is from the west.” That is infinite distance. That is a full release. His love for those who fear Him is *as high as the heavens*. That means His love reaches beyond understanding, beyond measurement, beyond even our deepest need. So how great is our God? Louie Giglio once said you could look through the Hubble Telescope and see a glimpse. Or you could listen to Chris Tomlin’s song and feel it. Either way, the answer is awe. Worship. Surrender.
Do not carry the weight of guilt today. Your sins have been cast away. Instead, get your arms around the greatness of God. He is not just good—He is better than we could ever imagine.
