Let Us Pray

Lord Jesus, help us walk so closely with You that both heaven and hell take notice. Let our lives be bold witnesses for Your glory. Amen.

Introduction

Does Satan know you? That question forces us to examine how visible our faith is in daily life. It’s also tied to whether we know the voice of Jesus.

In Acts 19:15, we read this chilling verse: “But the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?’” The context involves some who tried to imitate Paul’s casting out of demons, but they lacked true spiritual authority. The enemy wasn’t concerned with them—because they posed no threat.

Physics tells us that for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. That same principle applies in spiritual warfare. When we live out our calling boldly in Christ, we attract the attention of darkness. Satan gets busy when we get busy for Jesus.

So how can we make hell tremble and heaven cheer? By knowing Christ intimately and acting on His behalf. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). We must begin by listening for His voice through prayer, Scripture, and obedience.

Spiritual Warfare

Once we know His voice, we can move boldly in our calling. The late Charlie Daniels had a musical way of reminding us that even the devil knows when he’s been beaten. But the key isn’t just outsmarting Satan—it’s outloving, outserving, and outlasting his schemes with the armor of God firmly in place (Ephesians 6:10–18).

A quote from Harp at Betterman says it well: “We should move in such a way that heaven applauds us and hell knows our name.” That level of spiritual impact isn’t achieved by accident. It’s a result of daily surrender and divine empowerment.

Ask yourself two questions today: Do I know the voice of Jesus? And does Satan know my name? If you can answer yes to both, then you are walking in your divine calling.

As Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Think like Christ, live like Christ, and your actions will shake the gates of hell.
