Scripture Focus
Jeremiah 32:27 (NKJV)
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”
God spoke these words through Jeremiah during one of Judah’s darkest hours. Jerusalem was under siege, hope appeared lost, and the future looked hopeless. Nevertheless, the Lord reminded His people that human limitations never restrict divine power. What seems impossible to us remains completely possible with God.
Job 5:17 (NKJV)
“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.”
Although suffering is never pleasant, God’s loving discipline shapes His children into the people He desires them to become. His correction is evidence of His love, not His rejection.

Christ’s return is certain. Therefore, every believer should live faithfully while eagerly anticipating that glorious day.
Life Application
The word behold appears throughout the Bible because God knows how easily we become distracted. Our schedules fill quickly. Our minds race from one responsibility to another. Consequently, we often overlook the countless reminders of God’s presence that surround us each day.
When Scripture says “Behold,” heaven is asking us to slow down. Instead of rushing ahead, we are invited to stop and truly see what God wants us to understand. That single word encourages careful attention rather than casual observation.
First, behold God’s unlimited power. Jeremiah reminds us that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Problems that appear overwhelming to us are never overwhelming to Him. Therefore, when fear whispers that there is no solution, faith answers with God’s eternal promise.
Next, behold God’s loving correction. Few people enjoy discipline. However, wise believers recognize that a caring Father disciplines those He loves. Just as a gardener carefully prunes healthy branches so they produce more fruit, God lovingly removes attitudes and habits that hinder our spiritual growth. Although His correction may be uncomfortable for a season, it ultimately produces peace, wisdom, and stronger faith.
Then behold God’s amazing love. John’s words invite us to marvel that ordinary sinners can become children of the Almighty God. This privilege was purchased through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. We did not earn this relationship, nor could we ever deserve it. Instead, it is a priceless gift of grace received through faith.
Finally, behold the miracle of becoming a new creation. Christ does not merely improve our old life—He gives us an entirely new one. Yesterday’s failures no longer define today’s believer because Jesus has already written a new story of forgiveness, hope, and eternal life.
The Bible ends with Hope
Finally, behold the blessed hope that lies before every believer. The Bible does not end with uncertainty or defeat. Instead, it concludes with the promise that Jesus Christ will return. Revelation reminds us that every eye will see Him when He comes again. The Savior who entered Jerusalem riding a humble donkey will return as the King of kings and Lord of lords. Therefore, we should live each day with confidence, expectancy, and joyful anticipation.
Meanwhile, the command to “behold” still speaks to us. It calls us to notice God’s fingerprints in ordinary moments. Behold His faithfulness in every sunrise, His mercy in every answered prayer, and His grace in every forgiven sin. Furthermore, behold His presence during seasons of joy as well as times of sorrow. When we intentionally look for God, we discover that He has been walking beside us all along.
Dave’s comments about the worship theme are especially meaningful. Contemporary worship songs titled “Behold”invite us to pause and gaze upon the greatness of God. They remind us of the wonder of Christ’s incarnation, the sacrifice of the cross, the victory of the empty tomb, and the certainty of His coming again. Their message echoes the Scriptures: slow down, lift your eyes, and stand in awe of Jesus Christ.
Perhaps that is the greatest challenge for Christians today. We live in a world filled with constant noise, endless notifications, and countless distractions. However, God still whispers, “Behold.” He invites us to turn away from temporary concerns and fix our eyes on eternal realities.
Today, choose to behold His power instead of your problems. Behold His promises instead of your fears. Behold His love instead of your failures. Above all, behold Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. As you keep your eyes on Him, your heart will find renewed peace, deeper joy, and lasting hope.
The next time you encounter the word “behold” in Scripture, don’t rush past it. Pause. Reflect. Worship. God is inviting you to see something that will strengthen your faith and transform your life.
Brief Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for opening our eyes to Your greatness. Forgive us for becoming so busy that we often overlook Your presence and Your blessings. Help us to behold Your power when life seems impossible, Your loving discipline when we need correction, and Your amazing grace that has made us Your children.
Teach us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus each day. Fill our hearts with anticipation as we await His glorious return. May we never lose our sense of wonder at all You have done, all You are doing, and all You have promised to accomplish.
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
