It is the very promise of God that offers relief from daily burdens. In fact, this truth reminds us that when we give Him our struggles, we discover peace and freedom.

“Casting all your anxieties on him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Anxiety has been a thorn in humanity’s side for over 2,000 years. Even today, more than 60 million Americans suffer from severe anxiety attacks. Causes may vary—stressful jobs, health challenges, broken relationships, or financial pressure—but the weight always feels overwhelming.

Peter gives us a solution: cast your burdens onto Jesus. This is not a suggestion; it is a lifeline. Peter himself knew what it meant to carry regret and guilt. He denied Jesus three times and wept bitterly. Yet, Jesus forgave him, restored him, and raised him to become the leader of the early church. Because of grace, Peter could boldly remind us that Jesus cares for you.

Our Catholic brothers and sisters even honor Peter as the first pope, a reminder of how far he came after his failure. His story proves that Christ removes anxiety born of guilt and replaces it with confidence in His love. That same love is available for you today. When you feel the crushing weight of worry, remember this: Jesus does not stand far off—He is near, ready to carry your load.

So, begin this morning by handing your anxieties to Him. Whisper them in prayer, release them from your heart, and believe His promise. Anxiety may remain a challenge, but with Christ beside you, fear loses its grip. Truly, you can live in peace because He cares for you.
