When Samuel arrived to anoint the next king of Israel, he naturally assumed Eliab, tall and handsome, was God’s chosen one. Yet, God rejected that assumption and revealed a deeper truth — that He values the heart above all else. It was the unseen integrity, humility, and devotion of David that drew God’s favor. This same principle applies to us today.
God observes what others may miss — our quiet acts of kindness, patience in adversity, steadfast faith when life is hard, and love given without applause. These unseen moments reveal our true spiritual condition and make us candidates for His greater purposes.
