Jesus Chose You to Know the Father

Hands lifted in gratitude to the Heavenly Father
Chosen by Christ

Introduction

Discover the joy of knowing that Jesus chose you to reveal the Father. Reflect on His good and perfect gifts, and live with gratitude today.  Jesus Chose You to Know the Father — this devotion reminds us that our salvation is no accident, but the result of Christ’s intentional choice to reveal the Father to us. Realizing that all blessings and wisdom flow from Him helps us live with gratitude and purpose. This truth anchors us in spiritual wisdom.

Scripture Reading

“All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” (Matthew 11:27, ESV)

Devotion

You are not a Christian by luck of the draw. You are a follower of Christ because Jesus Himself chose to reveal the Father to you. This truth should stir both humility and joy in your heart.

Jesus compared the goodness of earthly fathers with the even greater goodness of our Heavenly Father: “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:11–13). God gives only what is good and perfect, as James reminds us: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17).

When we realize all our gifts, abilities, and blessings flow from Him, it shapes our thinking. As Proverbs 23:7 states, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” God’s generous character transforms not just our outlook, but also our actions, as we walk with gratitude and trust.

Charles Wesley’s hymn “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing” (1739) was written to celebrate the first anniversary of his own conversion. It reminds us that knowing the Father through Jesus leads naturally to worship, thanksgiving, and joyful praise. Centuries later, Chris Tomlin’s “Good Good Father” echoes this same truth in modern language, celebrating God’s unchanging goodness.

Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing to reveal Yourself to me through Jesus. Help me to walk today in gratitude for Your good and perfect gifts, and may my life reflect Your love to others. Amen.
