Come To Worship God

Let Us Pray

Heavenly Father, today we pause to bow before You in awe and reverence. May our hearts be filled with true worship, and may our lips declare Your holiness. Teach us to recognize that every place we stand in Your presence is holy ground. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let Us Worship In Song

Introduction

Come to worship God with reverence. True worship transforms ordinary places into holy ground. Come to worship God daily in spirit and truth.  Come to worship God is the first and highest calling of every believer. Worship is more than a song; it is the posture of our hearts. Just as the Magi traveled far to kneel before the newborn King, we too are called to approach His presence with reverence. This devotion reminds us that God desires worship above all else, and when we enter His presence, we stand on holy ground.

Life Application

The Magi’s journey illustrates how important it is to come to worship God. They crossed deserts and endured hardships simply to bow before the Messiah. Their worship was costly and intentional. True worship always requires something from us—whether it is time, humility, or surrender of self. The psalmist said, “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker” (Psalm 95:6). Notice the verbs: come, worship, bow, kneel. Each word invites us into deeper reverence.

Holy Ground

When Moses encountered God in the burning bush, the Lord told him, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5). God was reminding Moses that His presence transforms ordinary ground into holy ground. In the same way, our homes, workplaces, or even quiet moments of prayer can become sacred spaces when we acknowledge God’s presence.

To worship the Lord means to give Him glory not only on Sundays but in daily living. It is good for us to remember that worship is both an inward and outward act. Internally, it is our thoughts and affections being turned toward God. Externally, it can look like bowing down, lifting hands, or even lying prostrate. Revelation tells us that one day we will fall before His throne in eternal worship. Until then, we are invited to rehearse heaven here on earth. As Proverbs 23:7 reminds us, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Our worship flows from a heart aligned with His truth. Therefore, let us approach today with gratitude and intentionality, knowing we are already standing on holy ground.

Reflection Question: What simple step can you take today to recognize and honor God’s presence as holy ground in your life?
