We fly their flags in our yards and put their signs in our flower beds to be seen. 

Where are the banners for the Lord?

Better yet, we have FORGOTTEN the praise in the DOXOLOGY!

God made man physical, mental, and spiritual. 

Sleep is required for physical and mental refreshment. 

Communion with Jesus by prayer, meditation, or mental isolation are designed by God for our spiritual renewal. 

Jesus made it clear, recorded by Matthew:

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Mt 11:28

Jesus is speaking of spiritual rest .

We can maintain our bodies by good diets and exercise but if we lack spiritual renewal, we will become like a person driving a car with a flat tire.

150,000 people die globally EVERY DAY. That is 55,000,000 EVERY YEAR. Since Christians account for only about 30% of the world’s population, that means that 70% of those that die WILL BE SEPARATED FROM GOD FOR ALL ETERNITY(105,000 EVERY DAY and 38,500,00 EVERY YEAR.)

I have been blessed to travel in all 50 states and in 52 different countries, including Bible tours to Egypt, to Jordan twice, and to Israel five times. I have seen the practice of all the major religions and how they affect people. It breaks my heart that 70% of those that die will immediately go to hell and will someday be thrown into the LAKE OF FIRE. (Revelation 20:14-15).

The Bible makes it very clear that accepting Jesus as our LORD AND SAVIOR (John 14:6) is the ONLY way to go to heaven and spend ETERNITY WITH GOD.

A high precent of the people we encounter every week will not be going to heaven. What are we doing to share Jesus with them?

Plane Geometry in the 10th grade in 1958-59 taught me a life gym that I have applied over the past 65 plus years.
“The whole = the sum of its parts .”

Life is composed of a litany of small items.

Jesus called us to do the small things ;
Jesus does the “big things” when He died for our sins.

Jesus called us to do little things that cost very little money but are expensive.
    •    Share food with the hungry
    •    Pass extra clothes to the needy
    •    Visit a sick person
    •    Extend a welcoming hand to a person you don’t know
    •    Engage in prison ministry

These things cost virtually no money but are expensive because it takes OUR TIME!
Most people will write a $100 check rather than give a hour of service to a random person.

Oh, the brief list of “small things” to be faithful to came from Jesus himself in Mt 25:31-38.

Jesus said if you want to sit at my right hand in the kingdom, do these things and when you have done these things unto the needy, you HAVE DONE THEM UNTO ME!

Time does not heal all wounds;

Confession heals our wounds!

Confession is different from admission.

Admission is a statement of fact. 

Confession is finding agreement with God’s word with a repentant heart. 

Confession precedes forgiveness and should be accompanied by contrition and repentance.

We like to know things! We like to “figure” things out. 

But to figure out our infinite Creator, most of our usual approaches to knowing are simply insufficient.  

History is a compilation of facts; mathematics is an applied science; life is a jigsaw puzzle! 

Consequently, it becomes necessary for us to keep surrendering “what we think we know ” in order to pursue what we are “meant to know”.

Jesus told us how to pursue what “we are meant to know”;

“you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:32

We abide in the word in two ways:

1. Obeying God’s word by faith

2. Meditating on God’s word for wisdom

We read the Bible and gain knowledge;

We meditate on the Bible (Lectio Divina) and God transforms knowledge to wisdom.

Paul devotes the entire 12th chapter of 1 Cor to the various spiritual gifts and the different acts of Christian service. 

We are each endowed by the Holy Spirit with spirit gifts that are special and specific for us individually as God has WILLED.
