Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, give us courage to overcome evil with good. Let our faith shine even when the world is dark. Amen.
Let Us Worship In Song
Introduction
Overcome evil with good. Remember Charlie Kirk’s faith and 9/11 victims. Christians rise to overcome evil with good through hope and truth. Overcome evil with good reminds us that God can turn mourning into hope. This devotion remembers Charlie Kirk’s life and 9/11 victims in one spirit of truth.
Life Application
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21) Today’s devotional is dedicated to Charlie Kirk, not for politics, but for his faith and his stand for open dialogue. At just 32 years old, Charlie had already spent 12 years reaching college students with his convictions.
In 2012, he founded Turning Point USA, which grew to 3,500 campus chapters and 89 million online followers. His boldness reflected Paul’s words to Timothy: “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12) Charlie Kirk lived as a Christian leader, husband, and father. He chose the path of faith in a world that often rejects it.
Jesus said, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:18–19) Charlie’s life reflected this truth, and tragically, his faith and convictions drew hatred that ended in his assassination.
Yesterday was also 9/11 when America remembered the 3,000 lives taken by evil in 2001. On that day, as on the day before, evil struck. Yet Americans mourn together, and people of faith hold to the truth that we must overcome evil with good.
Violence can never silence the Gospel. Death cannot erase a testimony of faith. Mourning can, through God’s power, be turned into dancing. This is our call as believers: to rise together, grieve with hope, and remain steadfast in faith. Let us honor the legacy of Charlie and the memory of 9/11 victims by living lives that embody love, courage, and truth. In Christ, mourning will become joy, and evil will never have the last word.
