Do You Have a Burden for the Lost?

Do you have a burden for someone who does not yet know Christ? In Luke 2:3-6, we read of four men who carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus, opening a roof just to place him before the Savior. Their compassion and faith demonstrate how deep a burden for others can move us to action. This passage reminds us that the presence of Jesus and His power to heal go hand in hand with the willingness of believers to intercede for others. Carrying someone spiritually is part of our calling as witnesses of His grace.

Witness for the Light of Christ

John 1:7 says, “He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.” John the Baptist was not the light himself. His purpose was to point others to Jesus. When he saw Christ, he declared, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). His life’s mission was to prepare hearts for the Messiah.
