Because he held them all as toddlers and told them fascinating farm stories about the adventures of Brrrr Squirrel, Brrrr Rabbit, Brrrr Raccoon, Brrrr possum, Brrrr Crow, Brrrr Red Bird. etc. etc. Each child would be named for a part in every story but Dad always played the part of Brrr Fox. The name stuck. We all still refer to him as Brrrr Fox. His tombstone in S.C. has Brrrr Fox carved under his name. He lived to be almost 74, entering the life eternal 34 years ago.
