You Are A Saint

Introduction

Explore the powerful message that you are a saint and the hope it brings for your spiritual journey to a heavenly home. Good morning, dear friend! Welcome to another day in the presence of our gracious God. Today, we reflect on a truth that might feel almost too wonderful to embrace: you are called a saint. Not because of your perfection, but because of Christ’s perfect work on your behalf. In a world that often reminds us of our flaws and failures, Scripture repeatedly lifts our eyes to who we truly are in Him—washed, sanctified, justified, and set apart for His glory.

Scripture Focus

1 Corinthians 6:11 (NIV): But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Romans 1:7 (NIV): To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:9 (NIV): But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Life Application

What does it mean to live as a saint today? It doesn’t require a halo or a spotless record—thankfully, because none of us have that! Instead, it’s about embracing the identity Christ has already given you. When you wake up feeling ordinary or weighed down by yesterday’s mistakes, remember: you were washed clean at the cross. You’re being sanctified day by day as the Holy Spirit works in you, shaping your thoughts, words, and actions to reflect Jesus more clearly. And one day, you’ll stand glorified in His presence.

Practically, this truth changes everything. Speak kindly to yourself and others, knowing you’re addressing fellow saints. Extend grace where it’s hard, because you’ve received it abundantly. Step into service—whether helping a neighbor, praying for a friend, or sharing your faith—confident that God has chosen you for a purpose. As Johnny reminds us, quoting Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Let your heart dwell on who God says you are: chosen, adopted, an heir, a living stone built into His spiritual house. When doubts creep in, declare these truths aloud. Over time, they’ll reshape your confidence, your relationships, and your daily walk. You’re not striving to become a saint—you already are one in Christ. Live like it!

Reflection / Devotional Message

Over 50 times in the New Testament, everyday believers like you and me are called “saints.” That word might sound too lofty, too perfect for folks who still stumble and sin. But no one understood this better than the Apostle Paul. He went from breathing threats against the church to penning letters as God’s chosen instrument. Paul knew his past sins intimately, yet he was totally confident in God’s grace. He and Peter boldly referred to their fellow Christians with powerful titles: saints (Romans 1:7), ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), called (Romans 8:30), elect (1 Peter 1:1-2), chosen (1 Peter 2:9), royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9), adopted (Ephesians 1:5), heirs to the Kingdom (Romans 8:16-17), and living stones (1 Peter 2:5).

These aren’t earned badges—they’re gifts of grace received the moment you accepted Christ. You’ve been justified—declared righteous—through Jesus’ blood. Now you’re on the path of sanctification, a beautiful “work in progress” as the Spirit conforms you to Christ’s image. One glorious day, when Christ calls His saints home, we’ll receive glorified bodies, free from sin forever.

So good morning, fellow saint in the Lord! Don’t let humility turn into self-doubt. Embrace this identity with joy. It frees you to love boldly, forgive freely, and serve humbly. Your life proclaims the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness. You’re not defined by your failures but by His finished work. Rest in that today—and march forward in the confidence of who you truly are.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us saints through the precious name of Jesus. We confess we often feel unworthy, but we stand amazed at Your grace that washes, sanctifies, and justifies us. Help us live out this identity today—thinking, speaking, and acting as Your chosen ones. Continue Your good work in us until we’re fully glorified with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Song

To close, let’s lift our hearts with this powerful anthem declaring the eternal song of the saints in worship to our King.
