Introduction

Integrity in Christian Life — living incorruptibly and serving God rather than man. In this short devotion we consider what integrity looks like in a culture that often rewards compromise.

“And whatever you do, in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.”

— Colossians 3:17, 23

“Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on guard so that you are not led away by the error of the immoral and fall from your own stability.”

— 1 Peter (paraphrase)

Message

Integrity in our world today implies incorruptibility. Christians should be those who cannot be bribed or compromised because we serve God rather than man. A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good just because it is accepted by the majority. Living with integrity when the corrupt seem favored—and when our own sin nature warps our judgment—is a real challenge. To live with integrity is to follow the example of Christ. We do not muster it by willpower alone; we walk it by His power, which He freely gives to all who belong to Him. Your beliefs do not make you a better person—your behavior does. As Jesus reminds us, life will include suffering, but He has conquered the world; courage and peace are found in Him.Augustine says it well: “Right is right even if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it.”

Morning Prayer: Lord, grant me the courage to choose what is right, the humility to seek Your guidance, and the strength to honor You in every small decision. Let my life reflect Your truth. Amen.

Life Application

Scripture Reference: Colossians 3:17, 23; John 16:33

Practical Takeaway: Integrity is demonstrated in daily choices—how you speak, how you do business, and how you respond when no one watches. Depend on Christ to strengthen you.

  • Daily Action Steps (checklist):
  • Read Colossians 3:17–23 this morning and underline one phrase to apply.
  • Choose one area today (work, finances, conversation) to consciously act with uncompromised honesty.
  • Pray at midday: ask God to reveal any small compromises and commit to correct them.
