Let Us Pray
Lord, thank You for carving Your image into us. Help us to see Your design in our bodies and our lives. Amen.
Let Us Worship In Song
Introduction
Walking Tabernacles reminds us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God’s design is written into us. God’s design is written into our very bodies, making us living prophecy and walking tabernacles.
Main Body
My friend Michael K. of Michigan and Florida fame shared this with me. It is too good not to share.
Jesus died at 33. The human spine has 33 vertebrae. The very structure that holds us upright carries the same number of years He walked the earth. That is no accident—it is God’s design.
We have 12 ribs on each side, just as there were 12 disciples and 12 tribes of Israel. God inscribed His design into our bones. Heaven is written into our anatomy. This truth makes us walking tabernacles. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)
God’s design in our bodies
The vagus nerve runs from the brain to the heart and gut. It calms storms within the body. Its very shape resembles a cross—the power line of peace running through us. Every time your body heals, every time prayer slows your heartbeat, every time peace arrives when it makes no sense—that is Him. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
Jesus rose on the third day. Science tells us that after three days of fasting, the body begins to regenerate. Old cells die, new ones are born, and healing begins. The body literally resurrects itself. That isn’t coincidence—it is divine design. “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)
And the wonder continues. Your heart beats with an electrical rhythm. Your brain lights up in prayer. Tears carry different chemistry depending on whether they’re born of joy or sorrow. Blood speaks. Bones hold memory. The body worships, whether or not you’re aware of it. “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
We are fearfully and wonderfully made—living prophecy, walking tabernacles, dust and divinity woven into one. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14)
God didn’t just create you; He carved His image into you. You don’t have to look far to find Him. Look within. His design has been there from the beginning.
