Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” — Ephesians 1:3
Praise God from whom all blessings flow—this timeless line reminds us of our source of hope and grace.
Resetting the Soul With Praise
The Doxology is one of the most universally sung hymns in Christianity. It transcends denominations, cultures, and generations. Yet, sadly, many contemporary churches shy away from its powerful words of praise. Why?
This brief liturgical verse was originally written for seminary students to recite daily. Its purpose was simple: to reset the soul. Each morning, students would be reminded of the true source of their blessings—God Almighty—and offer praise to the Holy Trinity:
- God the Father
- God the Son
- God the Holy Spirit
In God’s providence, the Doxology came together through two unlikely sources: an Anglican priest who wrote the lyrics, and a French Huguenot priest who composed the melody. Their combined worship offering continues to echo through churches and homes around the world.
Praise God for Every Spiritual Blessing
As Ephesians 1:3 tells us, God has already blessed us with “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” in Christ. This includes grace, forgiveness, salvation, peace, and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Today, as you reflect on the Doxology, pause and thank God for at least three of these spiritual blessings in your life.
Begin your morning in praise. Let your soul rise in worship.
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, I praise You from whom all blessings flow. Thank You for the spiritual riches found in Christ. Let my heart sing daily of Your grace and glory. Amen.
