Time does not heal all wounds;

Confession heals our wounds!

Confession is different from admission.

Admission is a statement of fact. 

Confession is finding agreement with God’s word with a repentant heart. 

Confession precedes forgiveness and should be accompanied by contrition and repentance.

We like to know things! We like to “figure” things out. 

But to figure out our infinite Creator, most of our usual approaches to knowing are simply insufficient.  

History is a compilation of facts; mathematics is an applied science; life is a jigsaw puzzle! 

Consequently, it becomes necessary for us to keep surrendering “what we think we know ” in order to pursue what we are “meant to know”.

Jesus told us how to pursue what “we are meant to know”;

“you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:32

We abide in the word in two ways:

1. Obeying God’s word by faith

2. Meditating on God’s word for wisdom

We read the Bible and gain knowledge;

We meditate on the Bible (Lectio Divina) and God transforms knowledge to wisdom.

Paul devotes the entire 12th chapter of 1 Cor to the various spiritual gifts and the different acts of Christian service. 

We are each endowed by the Holy Spirit with spirit gifts that are special and specific for us individually as God has WILLED.

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;

All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as HE WILLS.”

1 Cor 12:4,11

Being on the Lord’s team is liken to being on a winning football team, everyone has different gifts and talents but dedicated to a common goal-winning souls for the Lord!

Many Christians are surprised to find out that Heaven will not be the same for everyone. The Bible makes it clear that we will receive different rewards and responsibilities/jobs based on what we did to bring honor and glory to God AFTER WE RECEIVED JESUS AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.

Our rewards will be based on: 1. Our faithfulness in service to Him (1 Corinthians 5:10) 2. The reality of our sonship (Galatians 4:7) 3. The justice of God (Hebrews 6:10) 4. Fulfilling the law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-9) 5. His promise that our labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58)

What we are doing NOW determines our job and responsibilities in heaven. 

One word of caution, anything we do for our honor and glory WILL NOT be rewarded in Heaven. Only the things we do for THE HONOR AND GLORY OF GOD will receive rewards.

Praise God always.

Also Jesus expects ACTION on His words. 

To be a follower of Christ is to deliver a proactive response to Jesus’ teachings. 

Jesus’ brother, James, had this to say:

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

Grace is only mentioned one time in the Old Testament, whereas Paul mentioned grace 86 times in the New Testament. 

Paul felt the grace of God living in him. He realized his salvation was by his faith in Jesus and God’s amazing grace. 

Paul confessed to be the greatest sinner among the disciples, he also was the hardest worker. I call Paul, “A Builder of the Kingdom”!

We have the choice to be merely a “member of the Kingdom” or be a hard worker like Paul and be a “builder of the Kingdom”!

Salvation by Grace is our gift from God;

Our work for God is our gift to God!

Us flawed humans need to transplant our “hearts of stone” with a “heart of flesh”, to be wired with a “new” spirit formed from Jesus’ DNA. 

When the Great Physician gives us a heart of flesh and we receive His Holy Spirit, then we BECOME the New Creation in Christ and ALL things are made new! (1Cor 5:17)

Isaiah, prophesied Jesus’ crucifixion, His Grace, and the healing power of the Holy Spirit some 700 years prior to the birth of Jesus. 

Jesus died for our sins, he was ridiculed on the cross which led him to plead to the Heavenly Father, ” Forgive them for they know not what they do.”, and through his physical beating we are HEALED by his forgiveness of our sins. 

The prophesy of Isaiah takes us to the site of each of our salvations.

Salvation occurs at the foot of the cross !

Paul knew what it takes to be prepared for life. He had tasted the “Agony of Defeat and the Thrill of Victory!”

In Ephesians 6:12 he taught us to put on the “Armor of God”.

Life has its mentors stressing the principles that Paul expressed. 

My list comprises 23 years under the tutelage of a Godly father who never missed a teaching opportunity, summer football practice, and 10 weeks of Basic Infantry Training in the U.S. Army. 

I learned the value of Paul’s teaching. 

    • Profitable for teaching

    • Reproof for correction 

    • Training in righteousness 

    • Godly man be complete 

    • Equipped for GOOD work
