Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” – John 18:37 (ESV)
Jesus your King—this powerful truth changes everything.
Jesus did not come to conquer with force. He came to reign in hearts. In The Case for Christ, Lee Strobel highlights how Jesus revealed His identity gradually. John’s Gospel, though, makes it plain—Jesus is the great “I AM,” the same name God used for Himself in the Old Testament (Exodus 3:14).
Though He had all authority, Jesus chose humility. Instead of claiming earthly power, He bore witness to truth. When questioned by Pilate, Jesus made it clear: “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36)
This wasn’t denial. It was declaration. He came to establish a heavenly kingdom—one that begins now in those who believe and will be fulfilled in eternity.
So, is Jesus your King? Not just in word, but in rule—over your thoughts, your decisions, your heart?
Every morning you rise and sing—even in the shower—is an opportunity to proclaim:
🎵“Jesus, you are my King.”🎶
Let your voice rise to the One who is truly King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
