Love is to be shared:
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.”
John 15:9
Love is to be reciprocal:
“We love because he first loved us. “
I John 4:19
Love of our brother is commanded:
“And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.”
1 John 4:21
There are 4 types of Biblical love described in scripture.
1. Agape (unconditional love as God loves us.)
2. Forge (familial , love of family members)
3. Philia (strong feeling of friendship or brotherly love)
4. Eros (romantic love)
Paul cites the attributes of love in
1 Cor :13
• patient
• kind
• bears all things,
• believes all things,
• hopes all things,
• endures all things
