On what Christians today call Palm Sunday, people lined the streets shouting:
“And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “HOSANNA”! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST.”
Mark 11:9-10
Hosanna in Hebrew means “help us” or
” save us”.
Less than a week later after Jesus’ arrest , the people cried out:
“And they cried out again, “Crucify him.” And Pilate said to them, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Crucify him.”
Mark 15:12-13
It is so easy to get “caught up ” with the crowd. Look at the demonstrations going on in America today, illustrating this point.
Jesus did not come to save a “crowd!”
Jesus came to save you individually and personally.
Jesus calls you by your name and has prepared a crown for you (Rom 8:29)
