Go tell it on the mountain today and every day.
We have celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. As Christians we are asked in many scriptures to share the story of His Life with others. This call to go tell it on the mountain encourages us to spread His truth far and wide.
Here are a few verses:
- Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”13
- Mark 16:15 – “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation”
- Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”
- Isaiah 49:6 – “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth”
- Colossians 3:16 – “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom”
We’re called to go tell it on the mountain—share the gospel with boldness and joy.
Jesus has come! We’ve celebrated the birth of our Savior, but our celebration doesn’t stop at the manger. The joy of knowing Christ must be shared. Scripture makes it clear: every believer is commissioned to tell His story—to proclaim the gospel far and wide, to fulfill the call to go tell it on the mountain.
Go Into All the World
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19–20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” This isn’t a suggestion. It’s a command rooted in love and grace, a mission to tell it on the mountain for all to hear.
We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry His message. Acts 1:8 reminds us: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses… to the end of the earth.”
Be the Light to Others
In the Old Testament, God’s desire was the same. Isaiah 49:6 says, “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” We must take our light and go tell it, as on the mountain!
Even now, we are to shine brightly in a world in need of hope. As Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.”
So this week, look for chances to speak His name, to offer prayer, or to live your faith boldly. Let’s go tell it on the mountain—because the world needs Jesus.
Let Us Pray
Lord Jesus, help us boldly share Your name and message with the world. Fill us with joy and courage to be Your light. Amen.
Have a great week as you tell Christ’s story.
