“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
John 10:27-28
My former Eli Lilly associate, Charlie Duncan, served 38 months in North Africa and Europe as a Captain of a tank company under Gen George Patton during WW2.
Charlie’s wife was pregnant with their first child when he departed for the war.
Charlie’s wife had young Jan on her shoulder when Charlie returned to Memphis on a “troop train” late at night on a fall night.
Troops were piling out of rail cars and loved ones were crowded on the tarmac .
Charlie’s wife was frantic to find Charlie as all the soldiers were dressed alike, when young Jan, who had never seen his father, started screaming,
“Momma, there is Daddy!” (I cannot tell this story without crying and neither can I write it.)
So as a 2-3 year old young boy only knew his earthly father from having seen pictures, a Child of God knows Jesus by His voice. We have moral clarity when the Holy Father speaks to us. We just have to be listening.
And the “good news” is if we know His voice and follow Him, we have security of salvation.
Good morning and listen. Jesus might be speaking
Editors note: One of Kaye’ dear friends sung “In the Garden” to her in the waning days of her life on earth. You could feel the presence of Jesus in our home. We heard His voice
