Influence Over Impression
“It is more important to influence people than to impress them.”
– Adrian Rogers
We Influence with Our Spirit
Living in the Spirit is the greatest way to achieve Spiritual influence. God created mankind with physical, mental, and spiritual capacities. Yet, the greatest of these is our spirit. We often impress others with our physical strength, athleticism, or creative talent. Similarly, mental gifts like intelligence and memory can dazzle those around us. But these are limited. Our physical bodies fade and our mental capacities fluctuate. Our Spiritual influence can influence for generations
However, ourgreatest influence comes from a deeper source—the Spirit within us. Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, we gain spiritual power that can touch lives, shape character, and lead others to Christ. Unlike our other faculties, the spirit offers unlimited potential when surrendered to God.
Genesis 2:7 reminds us, “Then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” That “breath of life” is the spiritual influence God placed in us—our true source of influence.
Proverbs 23:7 also says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” The condition of our inner life affects who we are and how we impact others.
So this morning, ask yourself: Am I seeking to impress others or influence them spiritually? Let your spirit shine, led by the Spirit of the Living God.
Let Us Pray
Holy Spirit, guide my heart today. Help me influence others by reflecting Your presence, not just my abilities. Amen.

Completely agree. And I think the thinking here goes with the verse from yesterday’s post – Phil 4:8-10. If we focus on what’s good, it will raise our spirits, which will influence others positively.
Good observation Alex.
