Go Tell It on The Mountain

Go tell it on the mountain today and every day.

We have celebrated the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Yet our celebration must continue beyond the manger. As Christians, we are called in many scriptures to share His story and tell others about His life. This call to “go tell it on the mountain” encourages us to spread His truth far and wide with joy and courage.

Here are a few verses that inspire this calling:

Matthew 28:19–20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Mark 16:15 – “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”
Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Isaiah 49:6 – “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Colossians 3:16 – “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.”

Clearly, we’re called to go tell it on the mountain—to share the gospel boldly and joyfully. Jesus has come! Because of that truth, we can’t remain silent. We’ve celebrated His birth, but our celebration should move us into action. Scripture makes it clear that believers are commissioned to proclaim the good news to everyone, everywhere.

Go Into All the World

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19–20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” This is not merely a suggestion—it’s a command filled with love and grace. We go because Christ first came to us. When we obey, we join His mission to tell it on the mountain so every heart can hear His story.

Moreover, Acts 1:8 strengthens our resolve: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses.” Because of this promise, we can share confidently. The Spirit empowers us, gives us words, and fills us with courage.

Be the Light to Others

Even in the Old Testament, God’s purpose was the same. Isaiah 49:6 declares, “I have made you a light for the Gentiles.” Therefore, we must take that light into dark places and let it shine. The world desperately needs hope, and Christ has chosen us to carry it.

Likewise, Colossians 3:16 teaches that the message of Christ should dwell richly in us. As we speak, teach, and encourage others, we reflect His wisdom and love. Every conversation becomes a chance to point someone toward salvation.

Live the Message

So this week, look intentionally for ways to share Jesus. Speak His name in love, offer prayer to someone in need, or live your faith openly at work or school. Remember, even a small act of faith can reach further than you imagine. Because the world needs Jesus, let’s go tell it on the mountain with joy and confidence.

Let Us Pray

Lord Jesus, help us share Your name boldly and with joy. Fill our hearts with courage and compassion so that Your light shines through us. May every word and action bring others closer to You. Amen.

Have a blessed week as you tell Christ’s story wherever you go.
