Let Us Worship In Song
Introduction
There is a Fountain Filled with Blood reminds us that Jesus washes all sins away. His blood removes every guilty stain and brings forgiveness through the Cross. There is a Fountain Filled with Blood reminds us that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. This devotion explores how the blood of Jesus cleanses us completely, removing every guilty stain, and offering freedom at the foot of the Cross.
Life Application
The Bible declares, “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22). In the Old Testament, unblemished lambs and calves were sacrificed for atonement. Therefore, these offerings pointed forward to the ultimate sacrifice that was yet to come. Indeed, every altar and every offering whispered a promise of redemption. Ultimately, the New Testament reveals the fulfillment in Jesus Christ, who shed His blood once and for all for our forgiveness. As a result, every believer can now stand cleansed, accepted, and made new before God.
Furthermore, when we sing the hymn There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood, powerful truths flow through every line. Each verse, in fact, reminds us of God’s mercy and the great price of redemption. We sing, 🎵“Lose all their guilty stains!”🎶 and immediately remember God’s promise: “I will remember their sins no more” (Hebrews 8:12). Later on, we sing, 🎵“Wash all my sins away!”🎶 and once again recall the psalmist’s words: “As far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). In addition, these lyrics help us reflect deeply on the power of Christ’s cleansing blood.
He removes, forgives and forgets.
Indeed, these sacred words point us back to the Cross, where Jesus’ blood was poured out for all. There, His sacrifice was sufficient, perfect, and eternal. Moreover, He removes not just some sins but all sins. He not only forgives but also forgets. Consequently, the stains that once clung to our conscience are gone forever. Even so, we often need to remind ourselves that His grace is stronger than our guilt. Beyond that, His mercy continues to flow fresh each morning, washing away yesterday’s regrets.
Truly, what a gift! Through Jesus, the chains of sin fall off, and the record of guilt is erased. In truth, it’s one time in life where a short memory pays great dividends—because God chooses not to remember our sins. Therefore, you can live today free from shame, anchored in grace, and filled with hope. So then, as you begin this day, approach the fountain—it is located at the foot of the Cross, where mercy flows without end.
In conclusion, remember this: forgiveness is not earned; it is received. Thus, let your heart rest in the cleansing stream of Christ’s love today.
