Satisfaction from the Lord shown by man at sunrise.

I Can’t Get No Satisfaction

Satisfaction from the Lord begins with surrender and a heart of wisdom. Start your day filled with His love.

God satisfies

“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” —Psalm 90:12,14 (ESV)

When we seek satisfaction in the world, we come up empty—just like the old Rolling Stones lyric, “I can’t get no satisfaction.” Mick Jagger may not have realized it, but his hit song echoed a truth that Moses had already expressed centuries earlier in Psalm 90.

Moses, weary from the burdens of leadership and the consequences of sin in Israel, cried out to God for satisfaction. He acknowledged that only God’s steadfast love could satisfy the human heart. Psalm 90 is one of the oldest psalms, written during Israel’s desert wanderings. In it, Moses presents five timeless truths:

God Alone Satisfies

  • God is eternal.
  • Sin separates us from God.
  • Salvation belongs to the Lord.
  • True wisdom starts with surrender.
  • Satisfaction is found in God’s unfailing love.

Mick Jagger was looking for satisfaction in the noise of the world. Moses looked upward. Today, we must do the same.

Number Your Days with Joy

Each morning is a new opportunity to find satisfaction from the Lord. As Psalm 90:14 says, “Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love.” Not in wealth. Not in recognition. Only in Him. Let today be numbered wisely, filled with joy that flows from knowing you are loved and satisfied by your heavenly Father.

Let Us Pray

Lord, help us to number our days and find deep satisfaction in You alone. May Your love be our joy each morning.
